At the moment I'm not really in the market for vintage watches (I'm not knowledgeable enough about them), so just out of curiousity: Do you think this piece is original?

The seller claims it's gold (plated?), and the diameter is 39mm.

Opinions?

PS: Unfortunately these are the only photos available, and I wouldn't want to ask the seller to post more, unless I'd be considering buying it.

It could be OK, but I would never commit before more photos than that. Dial looks OK, but I would like to see a shot where the logo is visible. The caseback looks completely blank which is also possible, depends what's on the inside and of course you should never buy without seeing the movement.

Is it my eyes or does the dial say chronomat?

I couldn't make it out - not sure what it says - obvious things starting with C are Chronomat or Cadette, but I'm not convinced that it says either, Chronomat would obviously be problematic!

It never can be ok. The dial says "CHRONOMAT" It can never be a Chronomat

I'm quite sure that it says "Chronomat".
Based on this, can you confidently say that it's a fake?
Just asking because if it is, I'll report it. But I need to be sure, I don't want to ruin someone's deal if I don't have "proof".

If it says chronomat then it is a definite fake.
