Hi,
need some help to identify this chrono. Type and condition (is it original ?) or a marriage, is of interest. What I personally investigated so far is that it seems to be a Venus 175 calibre and it is a stainless steel case, but that´s it.
Please help,
Al

Very diplomatic response there Justin!

That dial is horrible. The logo is not a Breitling logo, it's a cheap redial.

Can't really tell much about the rest. Outside of the caseback would be helpful, and a head on photo of the movement would also be helpful. That could be a Breitling bridge - it doesn't look too bad, but it's not correct for a 175.

You definitely don't want to buy this one.

Good luck with the hunt and feel free to ask when you find another one. Are you looking for anything in particular?

Restamped bridge and back. Odd that they used a Valjoux cal 22 to make a fake Breitling? Craig

No, not really. Just happened occasionally. I do have several vintage Breitlings and do sometimes snap for another one.

I still wonder, what is the reason that somebody fakes a vintage watch in such a way. The calibre isn´t really a cheap one, the dial seems to be re-stamped but definitely is old. The back case is simply wrong and easy to cross check.
What is it worth ?
The seller asks for 700.-€.....

Nevertheless, still crap

thx once again guys, Al

The reason is that someone will pay close to 700 Euros for it, and it cost a lot less to assemble. These people don't care about watches - just money.

What is is worth, well the easy answer is nothing, but I guess if you buy it in full knowledge that it's just an old watch of no real identity then 50 - 80 Euros is reasonable - $75 - $100 or so.

I just have a problem with any watch carrying a brand name that it's not entitled to - whether it's a fake modern watch or one of these vintage frankenwatches.
