Post subject:  Heard of such a Breitling??

A number of years ago I bought a Breitling in Vietnam.I took it to a Breitling dealer and he seemed to think it was real as it had the logo's in the right places as well as the inside winding weight etc. Sent to his watchmaker he said it was a replica with a very good Citizen movement??? If it is a replica, I am trying to establish the model. I assume it to be from the late 60's - early 70's and it is unusual in that it has a square type face and glass with cut off corners ie 8 sided. Did Breitling make something like this??? If not, and it was a replica, why would anybody take the trouble.
Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark and welcome to the site.

It's going to be tough to ascertain precisely what you have since Breitling has made so many different models throughout the years.

If you could post a couple of pics of the front and the back of it so we could take a look it would be great! :)

Definitely need pictures.

I would actually like pictures of dial, inside and outside of caseback and movement, but at a minimum dial and any numbers on the caseback.

If it is a fake, the reason that they would do it is easy to answer - to try and make a cheap watch seem worth more.
