It is a breitling datora, on the side it has engraving 999-1000 and the back is a see through. On the back it says 17 jewels and breitling. One hand just came off the other day but I do have it. I boutght is several years ego form a guy in Holland. I have been trying to find one like this for the past few days on line with no luck. If someone could tell me when it was made etc.
thank you

Can you tell me why you think it is a fake.
thank you

Fake logo on the dial, not a Breitling case, not a Breitling crown, not Breitling pushers, no Breitling serial number, no Breitling model number, the small matter of the fact that there was never a display back model made, and while it's not worth studying, I'm not convinced that the movement is Swiss - it looks rough which implies Chinese.

It's a very bad fake.

I think I have to also agree... Breitling didn't have a display back for a watch from this era... looks 60s-70s to me... but the whole case is wrong and the font on the movement bridge is inconsistent with the many I've seen... looks fabricated...

The dial looks the same as other Datoras from this era but the numbers and the "UPH" looks inconsistent also.

The hands on the subdials are also wrong.

It's a redial - look at the script B - it's not sharp enough, especially at the bottom of the loops.

Thank you for the info although it ruined my day. I was always proud of this watch. haha
o well, I saw another post on this web site by Breitling Enthusiast subject Breitling Datora Ref 2030 restored and he has the same one. I was trying to compare them and they look identical.
thank you

If you mean the Datora in the thread by Chronodeco, respectfully, I don't really see how you can make that comparison. The only thing I see that is similar between the two watches is a resemblance of the dials. Other than that there is really no similarity what-so-ever in my eye.

I'm not sure that Craig will think it's a compliment to have his work compared to this one......

Well that is what I meant the dial, of course not the case. It has the same wear like mine.
thank you
