Found him on this memorial for all that took part in WWII. His Army records either went up in the fire at the Pentagon years back or he was one of the 160,000 plus microfilms that had decayed and could not be copied.Mike.

Put this watch in for a service with a local Watchsmith who recognised the markings of the chap who had the face re done the 10+ years ago i told you about. So i pointed out the incorrect Breitling script to him and he said he knew of a good firm who could do it right, well you have probably guessed it, its the same firm and they say that is the only Breitling script they have even though its wrong  . So my question is who is best to sort this out even if it means sending the face to the USA.

Thanks Mike.

Not sure if he'll do it, or will recommend one, but the North American expert is Mark Heist at Horological Services. Expensive and a long wait, but damn good.

Closer to home, try chronodeco (Craig), he may know someone who can help - don't think he does dial work himself.

Craig (chronodeco) has kindly given me the names of two places to get the dial redone, one is in Ohio the other Ontario.I have found out the name of the firm who got the logo wrong and the cheeky so and so's wanted me to pay for them to make a new one and then pay for the dial refinishing!Any way here is the back of the dial, doubt if there are any clues.
It has 575, the word SINGER in an oval shape and what looks like MAUX DE FONDE,and SWISS MADE.
