As you guys know, (I know the professor knows) I've been looking for a decent chronomatic... since my first vintage Breitling, I've got the need for another one...

http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-BREITLING-C ... 7C294%3A50

I'm curious though to have everyone's thoughts to see what I can do with this one... would it be worth bringing it back to life? approximately how much to restore... even ballpark figures are welcome... and also how much do ref. 2112's run on the market these days... thanks~!

P.S. I've asked for a picture of the movement, waiting for a reply

I'll bet the experts are going to need a pic of the movement to judge value and estimated expense of repair.
The write up says it starts and stops so I would be concerned about what's under the hood (or bonnet). :D

I think that this is someting that chronodeco / Craig might like to get his hands on - think he's back from vacation sometime next week. His costs would make it a feasible proposition in all likelihood, although it obviously depends on how bad it is. Movement pictures will of course help, but they likely won't reveal exactly what's wrong.

In terms of value - these seem to be under appreciated pieces, but Wetty just bought one a few weeks ago so I'm sure he wouldn't mind a PM asking what he paid.

If this was mine I'd buy it for the movement and dial and install it in another case. There are a couple of nos chronomatic cases on ebay now at around $160. It'll cost way more than that to restore this one and the bezel is the real problem. Much easier to install in a new case and enjoy. This will sell for a good price just because of the movement.
