Don't like the crown, not sure about the hands - they look too orange, though that may be the photo. Date change may be broken - would like to see a photo of a different time.

It also breaks the rule about a movement photo - wouldn't pay that money without seeing what's inside - a major reason why no one bid on it.

Just trying to utilize some of my observations that I've learned from here...

1) are the hands supposed to be lighter orange?
2) the time is set at about 11:25... which means the date would start to change from that point :?:
3) Didn't notice the crown but i did find this one on page 13 of the catalog and the catalog scan is too small for comparison
4) Let's just say everything else is legit though... would 1500 be about right for a vintage chronomatic?

By the way, he relisted it at 1899 with a best offer... hmmm... I wonder why...

Thank you professor~

Take a look at Alan's excellent Chronomat page - http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=9103. He doesn't have this model specifically (which looks like a 2112).

Although those chrono-matics are black dials, the orange is a good comparison (there were a few slight variations, but I don't like this - but it could be a bad photo), and there are also good crown shots there. I've seen an 1809 Cosmonaute with a similar crown to this, so I can't categorically say that it's wrong, but it's certainly 'unexpected'.

The date may be changing at 11:25, but being that advanced, that early makes me nervous - it could be a sign of a broken date change mechanism.

If it's right - $1,500 is an OK price, but there should be better deals to be had.

It's a 12 hour dial. The time could be 11:25 AM, in which case the date would not advance. It's a good question to ask the seller.

I'm far from an expert, but I would bet that the crown is a replacement. It looks like one you can get from any supply house. There's no picture of it which raises the alarm flag in my feeble brain.
