I wouldn't buy it. Number one, it's from Argentina the most common location for fakes. Number two, the back is obviously wrong for a Breitling. Later 'B' logo on an earlier style watch and lack of any Breitling reference numbers or a serial number. Sometimes they aren't there on a solid gold watch but any Breitling with a stainless back is plated so a serial number or ref number should most likely be there. Lastly, it's got a Landeron movement which, I'm told, was never used in Breitling's and is most likely from another watch. Conclusion: It's an assembled watch made to look like a vintage Breitling. Let this one go.

The point about Landeron movements is a good one - over the past few days I have seen a few Breitlings on the Bay with Landerons. With the holiday season coming up it's a heads up for everyone looking right now.

There are also a lot of watches out there from Argentina, Turkey and China - and even some of the US listings say in the fine print 'watch may be shipped from Spain or Argentina'.

Take care out there
