I saw this but don't have any references with me today. To me it looks ok but of course I am no expert and it may be a total hunk of junk. The caseback seems to have very little in the way of wear and some of the stamping at least to me seems to be of fairly recent origin. Of course it may just be the material that it is made from but it made me wonder about the authenticity.
Any thoughts on this piece guys?

Thanks

It's 1973 rather than 1970, but there's nothing wrong with it that I can see - though I don't recall whether the 1451 should have a double back without checking.

I think it should have been goldplated and that the gold has been polished off.
I have never seen that champange colored dial in a steel case before, only in gold plated ones.
The steel version has a black dial with white registers.
Apart from that it looks ok.

regards

Jarl

You might be right - I don't remember off the top of my head and don't have anything with me at work. It's definitely the right style case, but may have been polished clean when the plate started wearing off - it's in good condition. That does also bring up the possibility of a frankenwatch though.
