Thanks for all the information. I am located in Bangkok, Thailand so getting service done anywhere except the AD in country is impossible. Its not the courier fees so much as the taxes that Thailand charge for exporting and importing the watches - and there is no exemption for sending them out of the country for service.

On a second note, I am looking to buy a new Pilots bracelet for a 1990's Chronomat A13050.1, i can buy this either from the UK or the USA online and have it shipped to an address in the UK/USA and pick it up next time i pass through. Any suggestions of good online accessories suppliers..

In Thailand these Pilots bracelets are really expensive, I was quoted US$1,625 for a new bracelet from the AD today.

Online dealers won't save you much on bracelets. Best bet is to contact Andrew Michaels (link at the top of hte page) if UK is easier or PM jnelson3097 for contact details of George at Govbergs if the US is easier for you.

Mark Heist isn't a dealer anyway, but there are very few watch dealers who are making money through only being watch dealers. The chains are OK, but the independents really struggle, especially in North America where discounts are so high. Most dealers will need to also carry jewellery which is higher margin.
