Well, I've bit the bullet again.

It's in the order bank here at work, and it will be my first brand new vehicle, a 2008 Corvette.

I chose Velocity Yellow, with Ebony interior. 6.2L engine = 436 horsepower. I plan on ordering a ProCharger Turbo system for it, which will boost the horsepower to the 630-650 range.

It should arrive in about 90-120 days, just in time for spring.

Nice! Now you need a Yellow Seawolf or Emergency to go with it! :)

After the Turbocharger is added, I think a vented hood w/ bulge should be in the works.

Believe it or not, it's very a compact turbo kit.

Driving a sportscar in the US is useless.

Have a visit to lucky germany soon. Driving ont the german Autobahn is the really scary thing. You go 200 kmph and look in the mirror, far away another car, You look in the mirror again 2 sec. later, the Ferrari with smoke rising from the breaks is 2 meters behind You and adrenalin shoots out of Your ears.

They have just started a discussion about introducing a speedlimit.

I would not say it's useless.. I mean, we still have that few seconds before you get to 100km/h (or 60mph) and if your car is quick, you get there twice as fast as the other guy. :D

This will just be a weekend fun car.

I drive a little fast every once in a while, but nothing like AutoBahn speeds. Speed can kill you in the US, mainly due to the amount of traffic we have on our highways and careless people. The speed limits are posted for a reason. I do not exceed limits in school zones, or in congested areas. I do not see a problem with driving a little faster in rual areas.

If I want to really go fast, I'll just pull the airplane out of the hangar and go fly!

I considered a few other autos before I ordered the Corvette from the dealer I work for. I searched for a CLK 350 Cabriolet, but couldn't seem to find what I was looking for. I did consider the Dodge Viper as well (The store I work for is also a Dodge dealer) due to the fact they aren't mass produced, but it would have been tough for us to get one. Besides, they are $25,000 more than the Corvette I ordered, and the insurance cost is drastic.

The new vettes are really nice. I just wish they would have kept the pop up headlights.

That's what I like about them now. No pop up headlights!

It streamlines the body in my opinion.

The Corvette?

The Corvette has an EPA rating of 17mpg in the city/25mpg on the highway.

I'll get a little more out of it thatn 25 out on the highway. I opted for the 2.73 performance axle. The car will turn 1400 rpms at 70mph. It should get 27mpg on the highway at the speed limit.
