My co-worker has a Canon XT 350D... and she says there is no Xi.. only a XTi and XT.

Assuming ur talking about the XT, its a good camera and very popular. She is partial to Canon so she says the XT is your best bet over the XTi for the money. Nikon has an entry level SLR that is quite good too apparently... similar price as the Canon. Go check out:

Nikon is great, I am a bufoon when it comes to photography but seem to get half decent pics with my Nikon D50 somehow, the little man inside my Nikon does all the work I just point and smack the button. Could'nt be bothered to fiddle with all the knobs and buttons.

I say get the newer D40, a friend has it and oves it!!!

sorry, was talking about the XT rather than a non-existent Xi. kept looking between the XT and the XTi (400D) and got a little dyslexic with the names. right now its a question between the two. my friend who is a professional photographer says the xti is a better bet, especially considering the firmware upgrades he expects to come out, but many of the reviews i have read rank the xt a little bit higher. well hopefully i make a decision soon, so i can post pics of the bentley t and some better ones of the evo. thanks for the advice/help.
