This morning I scanned this old snapshot I took in 1992 just prior to brake release at the start of our airshow routine. Lead was receiving clearance from Air Boss at the time so I grabbed the little Kodak and shot the pic as quickly as possible. Stowed the camera for formation takeoff and a nice fifteen minute workout... 8)
Best,
Ron

Cool. What were you flying or was it the same?

Just for the heck of it I dug out a few more old snapshots this morning and scanned them to post here. Most are almost 25 years old. :rodekaart Giving away my age. I'll be 69 in two weeks... Yikes! :(

Friday evening. About to saddle up at 7XS0 for the short flight to EFD...

Greeted by the CAF Marshall on the EFD ramp...

Getting pumped up to go now!...

The pics in the preceding post were shots at Wings Over Houston in the Fall. The pics below were taken at the Bluebonnet Air Show in Burnet, Texas during a subsequent Spring airshow season. A number of the Tora, Tora, Tora ships were there as well...
Image

IIRC we had four ships at that Burnet show. These three plus the brown/tan camo ship...

Giving the marshall some requested information...
Image

I just called the briefing. Nobody pays any attention to me...;-):-d
Image

Here I'm explaining how to turn left hopefully without hitting something... (Notice the Old Navitimer on my wrist?)
Image

And then we walk the entire routine before launch...
Image

Taxiing out. Actually we had 5 ships at Burnet that day...

Keep it moving...

Everyone loves a parade... ;-)

Anyway, I do have a few air to air shots but obviously not any taken during the routine. I'll scan a few and add them to this thread in the near future... :-)
Best,
Ron

Thanks, Col. :) An addendum for the "Suck and Blows"... ;-) They're fun. :-! Wide chord ailerons provide a decent roll rate, plenty of rudder area with two hanging back there and the military version like mine was modified for much lighter elevator forces. In short, you can whip it around quite well and enjoy very reasonable maneuverability. It's kinda like flying a 210 only heavier, more stable, more maneuverable and with an extra engine for peace of mind. (Although it's still underpowered for a twin) Here are a couple of links you might find of interest... Cessna M337B O-2A Super Skymaster and Cessna 337G Super Skymaster

Below is a taxi photo of one of our CAF members driving her O-2A back to the ramp. This lady is only a little over five feet tall and sits on cushions and IIRC had extensions on the rudder pedals. She acquired her O-2A about the time I was no longer flying and I think she still has the aircraft.. :|
Best,
Ron
