Not a question I ask myself down here in hot and sunny Australia at the moment... but continuing on a recent theme of Winter in Ontario, I thought people might like this one I found online:

Necessity is supposed to be the mother of invention, but this one is a pretty good diversion from the cold weather, and practical for sheltering from any wind. Great fun for the kids to make (assisted by their parents of course). I like the idea of LED lights in ice too. Very enterprising.

With 43C here in Melbourne today, I am loving the idea of throwing myself at those ice blocks and clinging on for dear life. Sorry, going a bit delirious in this heat!

Good one Dr. J. There had to be something great that comes out of a deep freeze like in the last few weeks (other than an upswing in emigration applications that is).

Not a chance.

I'm English by birth, Canadian by choice and couldn't be more proud. I often tell people that I think that there are two types of English people when it comes to emigrating - the Australia or America people and the New Zealand or Canada people. I did briefly toy with the idea of New Zealand when I was young but definitely made the right choice coming to Canada. You have lived here (in one of the greatest Canadian cities) so I am sure that you can at least partly understand.

Yep as a dual Canadian/Australian citizen I can understand. But faced with the same choice... I'm happily living 500m from a picturesque 10km long beach ;)
