Black Friday is nuts here. My wife saw paramedics at four stores, three people injured, one fist fight over merchandise.....two ladies in around 40 years of age.

This is the 4th year my wife and her friends have hit the stores early. My wife scored three Sony 7 megapixel cameras for $79 each at WalMart as gifts for family members. I wish her ass would have scored a Super Avenger for me!

It's really crazy, but the last four years I've bought all of my Christmas gifts online. I know sizes, I buy x amount, shipping is free!

Beats waiting in line.

'black" refers to the fact that it is the one day of the year that most all businesses will turn in black numbers instead of red.

As chance says, the day that US retailers traditionally start making profit for the year. US has a Thanksgiving 'bank holiday' to use English terms on the Thursday and Friday is the equivalent of Boxing Day sales with everyone buying for the holiday season.
