There are 1'100 ActiveEs produced until now, 700 of which are in the USA. The rest were supposed to be for Europe and China through a recruitement process in early 2012 but I haven't heard anything more since the recruitement for US customers took place in January 2012.

To revive the thread and because a funny photo op presented itself:

Looks like someone likes the E91 LCI here ;)

The frontmost one (with the 'ring tattoo) is mine.

I'll first change to a 5-series F11(OMG HOW COOL ARE THEY!!??) or a 7-series. We're probably looking at another kid within two years so I'll need some more space than a 1-series can afford to give me.

IMO, the F11 is the sexiest BMW since the E39. Owning one must be an orgasmic experience.

And the facelifted F01 looks very much like it.

I had to give it a bit of a christening, did I not?

Plus I'm a bit of a fan of the 'ring to be honest, attending the 24 hour race there every year.

As to the F10/F11, it is an incredibly pretty car, and after the E60, it means one can finally buy a 5 series again. In Zurich, they're everywhere these days, even more so than the Audi A6 Avant.

In that way, it may well be to the 5 series what the E90/91 were to the 3 series, the most successful opus by miles. And, coincidentally, that might have to do with both lines being extremely beautiful designs... Maybe BMW should look at that and learn that "striking" isn't any good in a design if it does not lead the object designed to be pretty.

Exhibit A: the new one series, though I'm slowly getting used to that.

Exhibit B: the new six series... Not ever going to get used to this one.

Like the Rolex Deepsea looks a bit similar to the Submariner, except it is bigger, bulkier, and somehow less elegant in its proportions.

Saw this cool custom truck at a show this weekend. Thought you guys would appreciate this. I took a crappy cell phone vid to show the gears working.

My best ever drive played "Monty Pythons' Flying Circus" VERY loudly. But then it should, if I rang the bell, opened the side hatch, I could serve you an ice-cream.

And, it may have been thity years ago, but it was a bird-puller like no other. So, no wriggling, Ferraris, Rollers and blowhard Mercs and anything else is just 'hairdresser'. In that thing, ring the bell and they came to me!

I seem to be in the minority of Audi drivers. But this is my run about.

I do not think that your statement is accurate.
