Hi, whats up guys I'm new to the site love it very much alot of information i watched all the reviews and im stuck between two models i wish i had the money to buy both of them but in US each costs about 4 grand and i don't go out much so the watch would just sit there anyway i really like the chronomat but i like the regular navitimer more but what confuses me about the navitimer is the slide rule i figured it out how to use it and i would put it to good use but the fact is that how reliable is that watch if i use the slide rule all the time will it effect water ressistence will the watch break down or start slowing down, and how hard is it to turn that bezel. The reason a like the chronomat is because of the pilot bracelet and that its big but i would rather get the navitimer just because of its functions all though they both have the techymeter and a chronograph the slide rule stands out but i dont want to have it constantly getting fixed just because i only gonna have one anyway if anybody can help me thanks alot for your feedback cheers.

Might be better placed in the general Breitling discussion. More traffic. Chronomat BTW. :lingsrock:

Firstly Welcome to the forums!

Both the Navitimer and Chronomat are great pieces. I also like the Navitimer more and thus would recommend it first but that is my opinion only. As you say the face is very busy which I like along with the slide rule :D

As to your questions, the slide rule is easy enough to move as it's designed to be; I've certainly had no problems. The watch will definitely not break down or slow down from use of the slide rule and if there are any problems then that is why you have a warranty.

You really can't go wrong with the Navitimer or the Chronomat for the matter. Good luck in making a decision!!! :D

Another thing to concider is the water resistance of each. The Chronomat is very water tight. You could go diving with it. The Navitimer is NOT very water resistant... at all. I wouldnt even think of showering with my Navitimer World. Either choice has distinct advantages. If you havent, yet, get to an AD and put them both on your wrist. You'll know which one is right for you.

Bronco is right. Put them on, one will call you. If not, buy the chronomat for durability first as you will want to wear it all the time. Then for ling #2, get the navi. You DID know there was going to be a #2 right? :lingsrock:

BoneDoc's spot on. I was torn between the Skyland and Navi World; I got the Skyland first, for durability and everyday use, then the World for special..........................I wear them both equally now

Welcome to the best forum in the Universe and enjoy your 'LingS, 'cos I know you won't stop at just one.

Out of the two watches you have listed I would go with the Navitimer. I don't think you can go wrong either way though. Welcome to the forum and keep us posted on your choice. The best advice is to always try both on. After looking at them both together there will most likely be one that calls out to you the loudest. Both of these watches have a classic Breitling look and style to them. :lingsrock:

The slide rule should hold up pretty well but if you're really concerned about water resistance, the Navitimer might not be the best choice.

For durability and versatility I would say get the Chronomat, then the Navitimer.

i went to the AD tried on both of them and i definitely like the navitimer more it has that look that you just don't get from the chronomat not that the chrono. looks bad its just too heavy i don't know how you can go diving with it or swimming. I need to get a few more finances straightened out maybe in the next couple of weeks i can't wait. my ad is charging 4400$ for the navi. and 3700$ for the chrono. are these ok prices?
