Personally I'm glad to see them go. Regardless of "PC" aspect, some of Breitling's ads were just plain tacky & poorly executed.

Can't say that I disagree. The "art" in the NYC boutique was not my thing either. Warbird nose art is one thing, but pop culture cartoon images are another matter...

Personally I love the deco and concept and thought their boutiques are the most impressive among all luxury watch brands. Very strong sense of identity, eye catching and different from a typical boutique, except those offensive artworks that show women exposing their undies. I agree that those offensive artworks should be taken down as they are disrespect to women. However I like the comics/cartoon concept.

Couldn't agree more; hopefully this will also see the end of the macho-male stereotypes too. Not all men are ruggedly handsome pilots. Also, it should mean we'll see more male hosts welcoming visitors to Basel and an end to the false-conformity of slim, young, attractive brand representatives. :lingsrock:

While they at it, they should get rid of the 'lady' label for some of their range; I mean, what if a man wants a smaller watch for himself? Or if a female-gendered person wants a bigger watch?

Indeed

Good riddance to such ads. If I wanted to gaze at photos of scantily-clad women, there are more than enough advertising venues for that. Breitling is a classier brand and it should project itself accordingly.

Okay. So what "advertising avenues" do you visit? Asking for a friend.

I didn't say or imply that I do visit advertising venues for scantily-clad women, just stating that they abound. And just in case you were wondering, by "venues" I wasn't referring to strip clubs (which I've never liked anyways but that's besides my point). I was referring to all forms of media - printed, digital, in-person or otherwise.

*edit* I just realized that I didn't answer your question about which advertising venues that I do visit. Besides this site obviously, not a whole lot. Amazon, eBay, Facebook oddly enough, occasionally watch-oriented sites like Jomashop, Govberg Jewelers and that's roughly about it, I think.

Hmm, so how do things stand with, say, Victoria's Secret? I mean, that's a "classier" brand, and well, they are "scantily-clad" women!

Maybe Breitling will get inspiration from Bremont

I have had several Bremonts. All were great but just slightly too small for me. That being said, not one of them came with those particular accessories [and nor could I bring them home...].
