Hello,

I am looking at purchasing a pre-owned Breitling Transocean Chronograph 38 in midnight blue with a mesh bracelet.

I am looking for opinions and thoughts? Also, I realize its 38mm, but I heard lug-lug it is 48.5mm. I am hoping to find another member with a similar wrist size to get a perspective and an idea of what it would look like on my wrist. My wrist is 6.75".

Thanks

38mm was for long considered the "ideal size" for chrongraphs - and for me it still is. personal opninion only.

I took a couple of pictures of my wife's Transocean 38mm Chronograph so that you could see how it wears on a 6.5" wrist. FWIW, it is one of her favorites, she had a strap made for it at Jean Rousseau in NYC, they do beautiful work at a very reasonable price!
Here's a close up.

Sorry...But a quick question.

It will probably not be an issue since I am very careful with my watches, but I heard they are prone to scratch very easily. Is that a true assessment?

Scratches build character, they are going to happen. Personally I would not let that deter me from wearing the watch, more so if you are the careful type. My solution would be to get a "beater" watch, one for when tough tasks are at hand. How much you spend on it is up to you!

Nice watch and 38mm is a size I find myself liking more and more these days.

I also do have a 6.75" wrist and though my sweet spot is at 41 mm (my daily beater is my Chronomat 41) I love to wear smaller watches, among others my Breitling Chrono Cockpit at 39 mm (small dial makes her look even smaller). My only non-chrono watch at 35-36 mm is a beautiful wear too. I'd love to have other chronographs at the 38-40 mm range. I'd go for it.
