Dear all.
I want to buy a Breitling for my husband his birthday. I found a great one. I like. But more important he would like. Located in different country so I can go to the store. It comed with box and papers. I know the serial number / no of lmt edition should be underneath the model number. I have asked seller several times to send me a more detailed picture of the back of case. But simply refusing. I like the watch. But I find it weird that no additional info is been given. I am tending to look for another watch (but ofcourse always have this one in mind) as it is more $ then a carton of milk. Anyone any experience with this? Or is it indeed. Ok great watch but if you do not have a 100% good feel concerning seller it is a no go. I have never bougt a Breitling. Any tips are welcome. Thanks and have a great day.

Welcome to BreitlingSource.

Some sellers are reluctant to provide photos showing the serial number out of fear it may help fraudsters but ultimately you have to trust the seller and in this case it doesn't sound like you do. There are plenty more watches out there so no reason to take additional risk to save a little money.

Thanks. The seller has a store for years and years. And is trusted seller on chrono24 for years. But indeed it could have helped if they explain why info is not being emailed. Don't have to decide today. So will sleep on it for a night (or 2). Thx

Don't read too much into Chrono24's trusted seller status - it doesn't mean much - http://www.chrono24.com/info/trusted-seller.htm

Oftentimes with the limited editions the online sellers blur the first part so it's BLUR/2000. Like the previous poster said they are also reluctant to give out serial numbers. I've bought quite a few watches online and can attest that fraudsters will lift an entire listing and "sell" the watch on another site. Having the serial number adds "authority" to their fraudulent sale, building false confidence on the part of the buyer.

So, it's not a sign of a bad seller that they don't want to send that info. On the other hand you really do need to be comfortable with the seller. It's a big purchase and there are a lot of fakes/scams/crooks out there.

Thanks everyone. Still searching for the right watch. But indeed extending research and not going to decide on the spot. I still have sometime. And asked my brother in law to help out.

@big-jon. No worries, he does. And will be a second hand Breitling for sure. He turns in 50. So bit of a special one. And my son and I are going to give it (haha our son is 4 so I think his part will by a drawing). And seeing your men smile is simply worth a lot. But still indecisive which one. But still a couple of weeks left. Appreciate all the replies. It is just nice to know that people can just be kind to strangers and / or without wanting something back for it. You all have a great day.
