I have to be honest. I was never completely happy with my result when I brushed this watch. I touched it up, took it apart and did it over, tried a different abrasion level but could not get it perfect. I came across the old shot of this watch as polished and it planted the seed. Took many hours to bring it back so my best advice would be, if you want a brushed finish watch buy one. I have, a Speedmaster to go with my Steelfish, and be happy with it. I realize I will have more than a few detractors for returning this to a polished state but at least it is close to perfect. I did leave the bezel brushed as I like the contrast.
Thanks for looking, Frank.

It looks great, and the contrasting brushed bezel works very well. I would never try to brush a polished watch, well beyond my capabilities or patience!

This is what it looked like from day one.

This was when it was brushed.
Be safe all, Frank.

Looks good frank
And I'm glad you're now happy with it .

Did you try ang different part-brushed/part-polished combinations on your journey ?

Thanks. I do wish I had a black faced brushed Blackbird also and I might try to pick one up down the road.
To your question, other than the leaving the brushed bezel I did not try any other combinations. I can not tell you how much work went into returning this to the polished condition.
Thanks for the reply, Frank.
