I'm amazed to see the rare Havana Aviastar come ringing in (including buyer's premium) at USD5500. Now I bang on about the virtues of the Aviastar quite a lot. It has to be said the more OTT gangsta rapper / Golf Club /Scrap-metal dealer Breitlings are not really my 'cup of tea'. But each to his own.
Forgive me for feeling a tad smug. I have two in Havana, one in Black; The version in blue has never really grabbed me.
Come on, that's a lot of money for an Aviastar. There's not too many watches I'd ever swap for mine. Maybe a 1946 Breitling Datora Valjoux 72C Triple date, and with my Havana at USD5500 a pop, it looks like I have the option.
Agreed it is the ultra-rare Havana, and rather the most un-Breitling, of Breitlings. Not big enough for most of you, but for me the right watch - I love the whole less-is-more thing they have going.
