Hi guys,
Apologies for my complete ignorance, but I have genuinely never posted on a forum before. If I'm not following correct procedure etc please humour me :D

I recently contacted Nelson regarding trying to source some parts for a watch I have recently inherited through bereavement. I would dearly love to re establish this time piece due to sentimental value.

I have a very good condition case, strap and immaculate glass with gold detailing of an Eric Tabarly model which I believe is from the mid 80's. However, despite searching through the other items alongside the watch there is no sign of a dial, hands or movement.

Would anybody have an idea as to where I could source parts for this particular model? I would be very grateful for any advice!

I realise that the Tabarly may not be the classic Breitling and perhaps not the most desirable, however I would love to pay tribute to the dedicated sailor who left it to me.

Thanks in advance

there are several different tabarly watches , pics and ref numbers will help to ascertain which parts you need exactly

Issued by Breitling SA , so not considered here as a vintage, I am afraid that the early quartz range is not very sought after by Breitling enthusiasts, so parts do not pop up very often on eBay or elsewhere.
You can identify your exact version here http://www.breitlingsource.com/books_1983.shtml, and the best you can do is to use eBay Tools as frequent search and warning . If you are not absolutely fixed on genuine ETA10000 quartz movement, adapting a swap ETA is possible.

Thanks so much for the info guys! Much appreciated.

Upon browsing the catalogue I would say that it is a
Tabarly 80770-BC DM 710.

I will definitely set up an advanced search on Ebay, however if I could obtain parts from a trusted source I would be happier.

I am considering the replacement ETA as I want to complete the watch to become a daily wearer.

I'm getting the feeling this could become a labour of love :-)

Tabarly 80770-BC is the reference ... DM 710 was the price in Deutschmark
ETA 955.412 as used in early Callisto's would fit , it can be sourced on eBay or elsewhere, new price 15 to 30€

Thanks so much for the info! I will keep an eye out for that movement! Just got to find dial, hands and crown now :-)

One positive though, the glass is absolutely immaculate with the breitling/anchor symbol 100% intact!! I guess that's a good starting point...
