Hey guys,

Long time member here. I have been less active on the forum these last few years because of a certain add-on to my family so didn't have much time!

So I'm back to thinking about watches about 90% of my day :poke: :lingsrock:

Short story long here... 8)

I own 2 watches. A Chrono SuperOcean I acquired in 2009 brand new from an AD here in Canada (thanks to Roff for the contact at the time) and a Navitimer Olympus I acquired in 2011 from a member of this very forum. Now, both watches are due for a service from Breitling right now.

I have had my eyes on a Blackbird 44mm, black face, all brushed with the faceted bracelet forever but I couldn't let go of my CSO since it was my first real watch. I still like the CSO very much, the contrast of the white sub-dials, the day-date complication and the shiny pro2 bracelet to name a few of the features that make it great.

But now one watch has to go and it's obviously not the Navitimer since it's one of my grail watches! Now the real question, should I have the CSO serviced before selling it or absorb the cost of the servicing to sell it a bit higher ? The ones I saw were selling for roughly 2000$ not serviced so I don't know how much I would ask for once it's serviced.

Also, I can't wait to get myself a blackbird.

In my experience a service won't add value, at best you'll get the cost back, but will make it easier to sell. I recently sold a piece where the buyer wanted a service for peace of mind so we agreed a price as is and then added the service cost to it. He then paid as soon as I got the watch back.

Ok sounds like an option!
