Thanks for the valuable input guys. :-)
Well it looks like, possibly, I may have the opportunity to purchase one but not through a retailer. I've done all necessary obvious checks with Breitling etc but what are the most obvious checks to do as concerns a fake?
I have a SuperOcean my parents bought me for when I was 40 and that was from a retailer so I'm uneducated really as to fakes with this marque.
All replies appreciated.
Cheers

There a not many fake E's on the market and the ones that are you should be able to see from a mile away being fake. They usually look like a cheap Chines crossover of a Casio, Citizen and just a hint of Emergency :)

I take it we still have the Breitling 'B' engraved on the bezel? My SuperOcean has it.

If you use the search function you will find plenty of threads of fake Emergencies, most including pictures.

Well if luck would have it the original watch I was after has possibly become available again due to a non paying bidder. Final price is £2550. Its had its services at Breitling, isn't stolen and has seen the majority of its life locked away in safe!
Opinions on pricing welcome.
Thanks guys.

A Superquartz on ProII bracelet is worth £2500 all day long if its a full set with tester, papers etc. I'd happily pay that for a nice example. If its on rubber with tang, then I'd say more like £2200, maybe £2300 if its nice condition. (Non dealer I should add).

Search out some pictures of new Emergency's as there's some really over polished examples out there. The lugs should have nice crisp chamfers on the shoulders, not rounded as many are now. I'd always pay more for one that has a nice crisp looking case.

If you can track down the limited edition Orbiter 3 version, that seems to hold strongest residuals, but you'll pay strong money for one.

BUK state that the 2 year service interval is recommended if you use the watch in a professional capacity. If not then really its user discretion, or when the End Of Life indicator kicks in.

Fake Breitling e is simple to value. Keep an air radio, put on 121.5 and press the button in the watch . If you ear the sound in the radio the watch is true. Don't use the tester . Could be fake.

I'm sure they do ship to the U.S. I guess your best bet is to contact them via their web page here: http://amjwatches.co.uk/contact-us-c.html
They can advise on sizing & figure out how to complete the Conditions of Sale document relating to improper use of the Emergency signal. Right now by my reckoning GBP £4055.00 = USD $5142.75.
