Hi all,

Just looking at purchasing my 1st Breitling as a treat for my 50th birthday next year. Currently looking at either the Navitimer World or the Navitimer 01 (46 mm). Like the look and feel of both but leaning towards the 01 because of the glass rear case and the fact that it has the Breitling 01 manufacture movement as apposed to the Breitling 24 in the World. This is obviously reflected in the price with the 01 at £5,990 and the World at £4,710, question is does the 01 warrant / justify the additional cost....

Likely that this will be a one of purchase so want to make sure I get the right one. Can afford the World now, but happy to wait a little longer if the 01 is the better long term option.... Does the Breitling manufacture movement make that much difference ?

Also would the 01 with leather strap be better than World with bracelet ???

Appreciate your thought's...

People rave about the navi bracelet. I am not a fan, I just think that style should be on leather or better yet Croc.
Saying that, my seawolf is always on a bracelet.

As for world vs 01.... both are great movements, yes on paper the 01 is better, but the Cal B24 is proven.

Id say buy whatever one you like to look at more. Dial layout is different. Also do you need a GMT hand?

:yeahthat Wouldn't decide between these two based on movement, buy the one you like the looks of!

Thanks for the feedback as its greatly appreciated...

Even after taking the movement out of the equation, think my preference is still for the 01 as I like the contrast between the black face and the white dials, though the World isn't ugly. On the strap side really like the brown Croc with clasp rather than the bracelet as its a bit too flash for me (very shinny).

So looks like I need to do a bit more saving.

My suggestion is to buy what you like! Have the AD fit both with a leather strap with deployment and a tang buckle and then compare it to the bracelet. Just keep in mind that the B01 movement will come with a 5 year warranty providing you with an additional three years of protection should you have any issues! Good Luck!

I have the navi 01 with leather and ss band. Dealer gave me leather band at purchase. I wear both and love them. I think the extra for 01 is worth it.

I'd get the 01 for sure. 46 is just too big in my opinion, plus you will get the BO1 in house movement, to me this is a no brainer... Good Luck with your decision.

Check here on the forum, people always list straps and clasps for sale, you will need 24-20 and a 20mm deployment unless you go with the tang buckle. If no luck on here try Govbergs, they are a sponsor on here and a Breitling dealer

@Whitty - have you also considered the Navi GMT? It's essentially an in-house Navi World, but it's 48mm. Just another option to throw into the mix.

One other thing - if you are in any way unsure about whether to go strap or bracelet, then I'd suggest buying it on the bracelet and then sourcing a strap later as it works out significantly cheaper than doing it the other way round - i.e. buying the watch on a strap and then buying the bracelet later.

Hi all, thanks for the feedback / advice.

Did look at the GMT but that was just a bit too big for me, though very nice.

Let you know when I finally get it....

I have the world on bracelet - love it and it's as accurate as my in-house breitling movement. I do however wish I had the raised logo that's on the 01, the printed wings on the world just seem to cheapen the dial very slightly.

of course, it's all a personal preference but the date @ 04:30 is a killer for me...

i've had a navi world for 8 years and that's still my "One and Only" bling!

good luck with the tough decision... ;-)

cheers,
