Hello,

I'm new to this forum, and I'd love for some advice from you guys. I currently own a Breitling Superocean Heritage 46, and was looking at purchasing a second piece. I'm looking at a Colt Chrono quartz, Avenger II GMT, and a Super Avenger. It's going to be worn casually, but occasionally with a suit as well.

Any suggestions?

I have a white Arabic super avenger II. I love the size and the presence. Just my thoughts.

x2 for super avenger. Since you have the SOH in 46mm already size isn't an issue. And for me my Super Avenger is by far my fav.

Good luck!

Buy what you want, who care if it looks put of place? But if you want it to go better with a suit i think an Avenger II GMT would do better than a super Avenger

You guys were totally right. Stopped by the AD this afternoon and tried on the Super Avenger, Colt Automatic and Colt Automatic Chrono, Avenger Chrono, Avenger GMT, and Galactic. I made the mistake of trying on the Super Avenger first, and it fit my wrist perfectly, making all if the other watches seem vastly inferior.

The Avenger Chrono and Super Avenger were quite thick, which makes me question whether or not they would fit under a shirt cuff. The Colt was significantly thinner, and would have no question wearing in all situations.

Besides the case thickness, the only other issue could be $$$. The Super Avenger is VERY pricey.

I really appreciate the suggestions!

There are plenty of deals to be had used (i see some where asking price is around $3000 or best offer on eBay of you are comfortable going that route), and sometimes gray market prices come down (gray market prices seem to go in cycles and 2 or 3 times a year the prices will be at their lowest) to less than you would probably expect

Besides eBay there is Watchrecon to search multiple forums for people selling used as well as Crown and Caliber and Chrono24

Theres also 2 Rolex forum vendors you can ask about prices on a specific version of the Super Avenger (one goes by Thanh/Takuya, another goes by DavidSW, either can probably get you gray market price on the Super Avenger, just like from an AD with everything, both are highly recommended by others and have a lot of good feedback)

Just some suggestions

Thanks,

Ya, i've been stalking Watch Recon for some time, and I've been looking at Grey Market as a possibility as well. Those may be viable options at some point, but I'd really love to buy from an AD. I'm going to have to put some serious thought into this. I could go Colt Chrono, which is significantly cheaper, I'd be perfectly happy with, and could purchase now, or I could wait a bit and get a Super Avenger. I might take a trip back to the AD a few more times to help make up my mind.

As i just edited my post to say, maybe you should also consider Takuya or DavidSW, both are highly recommended on the Rolex Forums and can get you a great deal on whatever configuration of the Super Avenger you want, i looked into getting an Avenger II Seawolf from one of them and they quoted a price equal to gray market, but said the watch would come with everything like from a AD, sounds like a very good option if you have the money gray market would cost, but want the warranties you would get from an AD

I would of went with one of them eventually if i didn't get a better deal than i was ever expecting from an eBay seller (which is apparently a Breitling AD in his country, lists mostly Breitlings on eBay but i don't see any Super Avengers listed by him)

Wow, that would be phenomenal. I'll definitely look into that.

So I took another trip to the AD today and narrowed my choice to one of the 3. Any suggestions to help sway me in any direction?

+1 on the Avenger, the GMT case is a very nice size and comfortable for daily wear

Awkwardly, given the forum ... I'd go for the Speedy.

I have two Avengers and they are thick enough to make me loosen the left sleeve to second button and this is the very reason my dress watches are 12mm thick (or so)

Speedy or Transocean Chrono (surprised to see AD didn't ask you to look TO)...

Super Avenger! I have a 1g with white dial and batons... I wear it casually, dressed up and suited up. One warning is on certain dress shirts it's a tighter fit under the cuff.
