How big is the bezel on this? I guess 51mm is the case so the bezel is? Are the radio part of the 51mm?

I'll admit, I have been giving the E2 more and more consideration lately. I know, I know, it's huuge. I have pretty decent sized wrists, so I'm not overly worried about the size. Does anyone know if the digital display is backlit? I consider this a major shortcoming with the E1. I can never get over to an AD during business hours, and there is no mention of it in any literature. Can anyone confirm?

I think you are referring to the all critical lug to lug measurement.... the Emergency 2 measures a whooping 64mm lug to lug (North-south measure)

Yes, the LCD displays are backlit and NVG compatible as well.

The movement used in the Emergency 2 is the Breitling 76 which is the same exact module found in the Aerospace, the Breitling 79.

Is has a 4 year battery and semi perpetual calendar, meaning that, every leap year you have to manually advance the date to March 1st.

While the Breitling 76 is a tried and true movement, I find it quite underwhelming for a watch that retails very close to 20 Grand. Acceptable in a $2K watch but not in a $20,000 timepiece but that is me.

I'm not 100% sure on that. The Emergency 2 and Emergency 1 Superquartz both use the B76. I know the Superquartz was not backlit. The B79 in the Aerospace is backlit. Both the B76 and B79 are based on the ETA 988.352. But I do not believe that the ETA 988.352 is not backlit out of the gate from ETA. So.... looking for in person confirmation.

Do you honestly think Breitling will sell you $20K multifunction Quartz with unlit digital displays?

Breitling hasn't sold an unlit Ana digi watch since 2004.

Trust me, both movements are exactly the same.

I was thinking East - West.

So, got into an AD, confirmed that the Emergency 2 is NOT back lit... So.... that's a fact. Also, MSRP is like $16K...

I like the model. It is pretty advanced imo with satellite emergency transmission.

But has a movement that dates back to the 1990s
