Hi Guys,

Anyone here have any experience in the larger stores with Breitling for sale in London?

Wondering if a trip up to town will be of any use or not.......

Any thoughts much appreciated.

Davey

Hi Davey

The AD in Selfridges (in the "Wonder Room"!) on Oxford Street has an extensive selection and were very helpful. I got my Blackbird there on Saturday. They even shaved a little off the price when I asked! Not a lot but still.

I went into Mappin and Webb on Regent Street last month, dressed in a business suit and got very snooty treatment from the salesman there. Ernest Jones on Oxford Street flat out refused to budge a penny on price ("We can sell all our steel watches without needing to discount"!) even though they had to go to the safe to get a Blackbird for me to see.

That's my (limited) experience for what it's worth.

Hey Chris

Thanks for that info.

When I went into an AD to look at an Emergency, the elder salesman rather looked down his nose at me as he sat opposite and gently placed the Emergency onto a green velvet cloth.

Sir, he said, You are aware, that this is not a toy.....

I loved that.

We are on great terms still, and I adore his gentle way.

I so wish there was a place you could go and see a whole range.....

I dream on.

Thanks again

Dave

I should add that the whole fine watch department seemed to be doing a very healthy level of transactions, and there were a lot of guys looking at Breitlings. I felt like I'd been let loose in a toy shop!
