The one thing I hate on quartz watches is a second hand that jumps each second.
I find the Emergency is super readable (regardless of dial color) because of the simple two hands.
I'm thinking I should get BUSA to remove the second hand from one of my B-1s to try it out.
Thoughts?

My thoughts are that BUSA will flat out refuse to do it. Something like that is changing the way they designed it to operate, so they'll never go for it I'm afraid.

I was looking at an airwolf at the front of a local ADs window last week.
I watched the second - hand for a full 2 minutes and couldn't believe what I saw.
The hand didn't line up with any minute marks in its orbit. Most disapointing.

Why do you hate it?

Is it because it's a dead giveaway of the timepiece's internals?

You never know unless you ask, but I doubt it'll be possible. Let us know what they say.

I don't mind the ticking of the second hand on quartz but I cannot stand it when it does not strike the minute markers on the button. I have several quartz watches, timex, Citizen and each one its the mark perfectly yet so many others do not and it does not equate to price!

Most of the quartz breitlings I have seen in the AD do not hit the marker. I just find this so odd when at the same time it is one of the most accurate quartz movements in the world! It is like the minute hand not sweeping but jumping on many quartz watches and most do it on the expensive ones, a smooth sweep minute hand can be done(my $20 Timex manages the feat as well as the second hand striking the markers) with that in mind I think it inxecusible for a multi thousand dollar watch not to manage to do it!

Perhaps - not really sure. I guess it niggles at me...
Besides, the Emergency is so readable I really like the look.

You're after a UTC for your B1 aren't you?
I scored the one I was looking for (arrived yesterday) so the hunt is all yours.
Best of luck...

On a side note - a brown Breitling baseball cap came with my latest UTC it and I think I threw it out with the box...

Aye I am, I just saw your other thread announcing its arrival - congrats!

Too bad about the hat though. Oh well, those are easier to find than UTC's! 8)

Yes it is, it's just sitting inside the backpack I got. I'll honestly never wear it.

Hey at least you guys didn't throw away a whole watch. My cousin was having trouble getting a strap onto his watch, so he had it sitting on his desk in his dorm, with only half a strap attached. One day I'm on the phone with him and he goes "where the heck is my watch".. and he found half the strap on the ground, and no sign of the other strap and the watch... he realized that he must have swept it into the garbage with his junk on the desk the other day when he did some mad cleaning!!!

It was a brand new aftermarket Ammo Strap too!!!
