Might be a stupid question, but if BUSA has an issue with warranty work on watched bought outside the country or black market watches why does the warranty booklet say INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY? Makes no sense to me.

Also, i have read on a few posts that BUSA wants the original bill of sale included when sent in for warranty work. I just called BUSA in conneticut, and all the mentioned as being needed was 'INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY BOOKLET', no such mention of bill of sale.

Truth is my ALMOST one year old Datora, was purchased from an unauthorized jeweler that has worked with my family for years. it seems as if it was from CHILE (warranty booklet has perforated word CHILE on it) it is no doubt real, but black market. I recently noticed that is not keeping time, and on average is about six hours off per day. Don't really know what could have happened. I do not spend much time with it on, the SA and world, get most of my time. I can't remember any issues when i purchased it, and it was definitely new.

So i'm sending it in for warranty repair. Two questions; will they send it back and say deal with it elsewhere, will they not service it, will they charge me?

If you have the warranty and it is properly stamped with dealer stamp and dated from the sale then you will have no issues.

The bill of sale request will be if they suspect that the watch was sold more than 2 years ago with open papers which is becoming prevalent. As long as the warranty document is in order then you should be fine.

hmm. thanks, it is properly stamped and dated correctly. but! its not stamped with the dealer stamp, just a scribble. Is this an issue?

A lot of dealers hand write their details so it shouldn't be.

No, and it makes no sense.

Chrono will have marginal impact on accuracy, but not 6 hours per day.

ive been wearing it straight for the past day and a half. and time is on point. I've been using my iphone timer as a point of reference, and i check it every few hours. everything seems fine. i'm kind of confused at this point to be honest.

Well watches don't tend to fix themselves!

Are you sure that the watch was running that slow before or was it just on a low power reserve and stopping / starting?

I honestly was not aware that could happen ( stopping/starting). Sorry if I sound like an idiot.

If the power reserve is very low, the watch can stop - obviously. As you wear it, motion from your arm can wind the watch enough to cause it to start up again, but it likely won't be enough to keep it going for very long. Hence, it could stop again. And so on.

Also, just to clarify: if you bought the watch through a non-authorized dealer, but it wasn't stolen, then you're talking about the grey market. The black market deals in stolen goods.

No worries. I was just pointing it out for future reference - not trying to make you feel "like an idiot," as you say. We're all here to learn.

And they get them by cutoms by encasing them in large bricks of hashish.
