Many of you have proclaimed a distinct dislike for the new SuperOceans announced at Basel this year. Some of you have stated that you like them.

I hope my article that introduces the details of these two watches can change the minds of the former and strengthen the opinion of the latter.

As always your comments on the watches and the article are always welcome.

As always, nice review and pics Ricardo. I am a bit confused though.

You indicate the 2011 SO (44mm model) replaced the 2010 SOII (42mm model). I've never heard that before, in fact quite the opposite - that the SO II and the SO44 are two separate existing models as opposed to the latter replacing the former. What we have been told (I was told this by the SW USA Breitling rep) is the SO44 is the replacement for the Steelfish, not the SOII. My understanding is the Superocean line consists of the following models, none of which are discontinued/replaced - 42mm SOII, SO44, new 44mm CSO, SOH42, SOH38(hanging by a thread now that the 42mm model is out), SOH46, SOHC.

Have we been given incorrect info?

Thnaks again for your efforts.

Nice review but as Shark says, I was not under the impression that the new SOII 44mm would replace the SOII 42mm. I thought that they would both be offered....that's news to me if it's true.

Also, I think the new SOII 44mm and the new CSO are both hideous. I tried them both on recently at a local AD and they're a joke. For the SOII 44mm...WHY just a 6 & 9??? The dial looks so unbalanced. For the new CSO....WHY add colors to the sub dials?? It looks like a toy. Sorry...don't mean to hijack the thread but they're horendous watches....but I appreciate the well thought out review for your Authorized Dealer.

Thank You Gentlemen.

I bow to your superior knowledge.

I don't think I was misinformed about the new SuperOcean replacing the old SuperOcean which, in turn, replaced the older SuperOcean last year, this year. I think I just misunderstood.

I shall change my article to suit. Although I doubt I'll be able to sway Sergios opinion.

Apologies for the confusion.

I will still thank you for your kind (and corrective) words.

That was my thought, as well. It seems it would have made more sense for Breitling to just do away with the Arabics altogether and put other lumed indices at the 6 and 9 positions. Having said that, I appreciate your reviews and pics, Ricardo.

It's the inverse of the SOII 42mm. The only numerals missing from the SOII were the 6 & 9. That's my guess....and if so....then that was such a stupid idea that some designer had. All batons would have looked great....or all numerals like the SOII would have looked great. Oh well.
