Does anyone agree the super avenger is the breitling signature watch as of now?

Jackd,

I have owned a few Lings and right now I have a 2 tone Chronomat, a stainless Astromat Longitude, an SA and a Bentley Motors. I don't know if the Super Avenger is the "Mascot" or"signature" Ling but to me and many others here it just seems to be the most satisfying of the Lings. There just seems to be something very satisfying about strapping on a Super Avenger that doesn't occur with other models. It's HUGE, it's solid and it's undeniably a FULL LING !

I would have to say the navitimer also...

The SA would seem like it bc its one of the most "affordable" series from breitling and def the best bang for the buck.

to me though...they ALL are!!!!! :)

Yes, Navitimer. In my short experience with luxury watches, it seems to me that the Navitimer is the signature series.

Agreed, and in the real world the Chronomat Evo (now Chronomat) has been the big seller over the last few years.

I have to go with classic Navitimer as well. However, if I had my choice the vote for "signature" watch would go to the Skyland. Not necessarily the Blacksteel, because I own one, but the entire line in my opinion is one the best looking mens' watch bar none. It can be casual, but it is still a class act regardless of which strap or bracelet is attached.
Cheers,
Carl

I'd say the Navitimer is still their "trademark", with a close second at the Chronomat Evo. But as demands for the SA have been lately, I wouldn't be surprised if it has changed to the SA in a few years.

Change the SA (Super Avenger) to AS (Avenger Skyland) and you are absolutely correct IMHO... :D
Cheers,
Ron

Even though I don't personally own one, I'd have to agree that the classic "standard" Navitimer is still the Breitling signature watch.

I'd probably even go so far as to say the black dial/white sub-dial combination on a black leather strap is probably the most classical you can get.

While the SA is currently very popular and probably outselling the Navi by a country mile these days, I'd say it (and any other model for that matter) has got a long way to go to become the signature piece.

As we all know a classic or signature piece may not necessarily be the best technically, but it has an emotive quality that young pretenders can't compete with. (I should just say that none of this makes me want a standard Navi - it's just too small! - but it IS still the signature piece.... IMHO. :) )

I agree that the Navitimer is the classic Breitling watch. It encompasses the aviation tradition of the company, and the classic tri-compax black dial white subdial look is the most recognizable. Oddly I have never owned that exact watch. I've had a couple Old Navitimers in black and white but they were of the 12, 9, 6 subdial layout.

I think the SA is quickly replacing the Chronomat as the best selling Gotta-have-it watch in the Breitling line... but as to whether or not it will replace it as the Iconic poster child remains to be seen.

Agreed. I don't recall seeing many Super Avengers on Breitling billboards...

Having the 'Full Ling' seems to be pretty important to a lot of members here and the Super Avenger is the most accessible of those.
