There is a red evo, indeed. It has the arabic dial. One of the guys here has one, though he hasn't posted in a while.

Yes, the Chronomat is available in red. However, it is not as rare as your colleague claims.

Correct, although while it isn't a limited edition or anything I would still expect there not to be many around due to the dial colour's limited appeal. Most people will always go for black, blue or white as the more vibrant colours are tough to wear in more formal occasions.

Nah... Red goes with anything. Today I'm wearing my red Omega Speedmaster and my gut feeling says that a red dial Chronomat is the next one up whenever that'll happen. I only wish that it would come with roman numerals as well...

Hmmm, I think you may be in the minority there Mr Aleister!

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with red dials at all (and I personally quite like the more unusual colours) - I just reckon that Breitling will not have too many requests for them.... hence they are probably more rare than the more traditional colours.

I bet if we polled the membership here on dial colour, more than 95% would be black, blue and white.

I have sold one red Evo so far. But I don't have them on stock, only on special order. In fact I sold more red Bentley (2, also on order only).

Red is a tough dial at the moment, 5 years ago, it was a lot easier to sell a red dial watch. I remember selling quite a couple (old normal Chronomats), when the limited Red Arrows was in the market.

I know - I just tried to be a bit provocative. :) But, I like the red dial and I could well imagine changing my Speedmaster for a red Chronomat.

Of course you're right regarding dial preferences. I guess most people are trying to get something that's more "easy-giong" than red - hence the black/blue/white. That makes a red dial more "odd", and maybe more rare to spot. But as far as I know the supply for a red dial isn't restricted, so the red in itself is not more rare. Hmm, starting to get a bit fuzzy, hope you know what I'm trying to say here.

As indicated previously, any perceived "rarity" is due only to a lower demand. The red EVO with arabics is indeed beautiful and quite readily available priced the same as all the other EVO dial colors. Speaking of red, how about slate for a nice compromise selection?...
Cheers,
Ron
