Hello everyone. Newbie here and dont own a breitling yet  I have decided there are far too many chioces. I am leaning towards the Chrono-Matic any thoughts on that style? I did find out at the AD i will need at least two lings to start  one for sport and one for ...hmmm to... well I suppose it just is a good excuse for the wife. I did do a search on the forum and really didnt see much about the style.

Have you been thinking about the old Chrono-Matic or the newly released bigger one? I almost all aspects I prefer the new design - the only thing I'm not very fond of is that rubber bezel. However, that might change when I see one in person, as opposed to glaring at pics only. Some watches are much better "live" than what you think of them from a pic.

What would be the second choice, for the second one? ;)

I agree with you on this one Aleister. The rubber bezel idea REALLY put me off when I first heard about it, but as a model I'm really coming round to the Chrono-Matic 49. I'm looking forward to checking one out in the metal, and if the bezel turns out to be very tough looking and well built, I may well be persuaded. The only thing I'd have liked to see on it is a left-hand crown like the traditional Chrono-Matic. After all I always thought that the LH crown was what actually MADE it a Chrono-Matic!

I kind of agree with you on the crown there Driver. I thought so too, but obviously Bretling proved me wrong...

Thanks for the responces. Im looking at the older one thats 44mm. I had it net to a 3 dail navi and it looked higher grade. The bezel was steel but had a diff angle to it. I have a smaller wrist and 44mm is the max for me. As far as the other watch I am looking at is a regular SO. It seems not many people talk about the standard one but i love the wasy it looks. Very utilitarian and simple. Great for work. Thanks

I like the old Chrono-Matic style - as you have seen in my response I think that is the real look for the model.

Regarding a SO as the second one - good choice. I'm very pleased with mine. :)
